MotoEye Remote

Privacy policy

Effective 24 October 2026 · applies to the MotoEye Remote Android app (com.a42r.motoeye.remote) and this website.

The short version

MotoEye Remote does not collect, store off-device, share or sell any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking. The app talks only to your MotoEye HUD and tyre pressure sensors over Bluetooth, and does not send anything over the internet.

Who we are

MotoEye Remote is an independent, free project published by a42r (Phil Gersekowski), Australia. It is not made by or affiliated with MotoEye or Vidoar. Contact: github@a42r.com.

What stays on your phone

The app keeps the following only in its private storage on your device. None of it is sent to us or anyone else.

  • The Bluetooth address of the HUD you connected to, so the app can reconnect automatically.
  • Your settings (toggles such as auto-reconnect, haptics and the lock-screen pad) and the macros you create.
  • Tyre pressure readings (pressure, temperature and sensor battery), held in memory while the app runs and discarded after 30 minutes.

If Android backup is switched on for your Google account, Android may include the app's settings and macros in your device backup. That backup is run by Google under your Google account and its terms; we never have access to it. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.

Permissions and how they are used

  • Bluetooth / Nearby devices — to find, pair with and control your HUD, and to receive broadcasts from the MotoEye tyre pressure sensors. The scan may also see other nearby Bluetooth devices; the app ignores everything that isn't a HUD or a TPMS sensor and keeps no record of it.
  • Location — requested only on Android 11 and older, where Android requires it for Bluetooth scanning. The app never reads your location.
  • Notifications — to show the connection status notification with Camera and BACK actions.
  • Notification access (optional) — to find which app is currently playing media, so Play, Previous and Next control it. The app looks only at the app name and whether it shows a Pause button; it does not read, store or send notification text.
  • Accessibility services (optional, two separate services) — one draws the remote pad over the lock screen, the other performs Android's Home action for the “Exit Android Auto” button. Both are configured so they cannot read window content, they ignore all accessibility events, and they collect no data.
  • Battery optimisation exemption, wake lock, start at boot — to keep the Bluetooth link and auto-reconnect working during a ride.
  • Internet — declared for possible future in-app update checks. The current version makes no network connections. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the release that does it.

This website

motoeye-remote.a42r.com is a static site with no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. It is served through Cloudflare and our web server, which keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, page requested, time) for security and operations; these are not used to identify or profile visitors. If you download the app from Google Play or from the project's GitHub releases, that download is handled by Google or GitHub under their own privacy policies.

Children

The app is meant for motorcycle riders and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. To remove everything the app stored on your phone, clear its storage or uninstall it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
